The physical basis of dilatance technologies of torpedoing oil, gas and water wells for intensification of their productivity and increasing of the recovery coefficient is described. Special aspects of underground hydrodynamics in the area of explosion effect are analyzed, the limiting factors of well torpedoing are determined and the ways of their overcoming are proposed. Scientific principles of controlling the effect of explosion in the mode of dilatance decompaction of reservoir formations and technical methods of their practical implementation are developed. Recommendations on calculation of masses of explosive charges, delay intervals and other elements of operations ensuring the estimated effect of torpedoing are described. Main design schemes of dilatance torpedoes and technologies of their industrial application are proposed. For the time, the physical-chemical aspects of advantages of explosive-chemical methods of treatment of well bottom-hole areas are substantiated. Special attention is paid to the effect of torpedoing in the operation of adjacent production and injection wells. The experience of practical application of the technology in oil and gas deposits and underground water supply points in the countries of CIS and far abroad is described in details.

The physical, technical and technological basic principles of protection of deep wells from hydraulic flow generated by explosion or combustion processes are described. On the basis of the analysis of kinematics of well fluid under the effect of pressure of gaseous products of combustion or detonation of explosive substances it has been shown that the maximum velocity of its travel and the height of splash in the borehole retard in phase from the maximum pressure by 40-50% of the complete period of effect of the excessive load. Methods of calculation of optimum constructions of protection devices capable of completely protecting the well from the negative effect of well fluid flow are described.

The regularities of development of dilatance processes at pre-limit dynamic loading are described, the deformation properties of formations are defined as dilatant, their dependence on the natural state of formation and the mode of loading is determined. The model of dilatance decompaction of formation structure describing the changes of its properties in the conditions of non-uniform compression is proposed. For the first time, the influence of dilatancy on the filtration permeability of formations at pre-limit loads, the energy of dissociation, the kinetics of mass exchange processes and chemical interactions is analyzed.

The scheme of substantiation of the throttling effect is provided and the influence of the number of throttling channels and their size on the efficiency of well protection is described. The typical design of multiple use protection devices with cascade throttling providing the required level of protection of well boring casings from explosion loads is described.

It has been shown that the real efficiency factor of the explosion effect is 2-2,5 times smaller compared to the ideal value defined on the basis of thermodynamics of expansion of the detonation products. The energy reserves of the existing explosion operations are determined by means of their utilization for increasing the efficiency factor of the explosion effect.

It has been proven that in the process of washout of natural rock salt deposits for the purpose of building underground storage facilities the limitation on the minimum depth of the washout zone exists, where the technological process become economically unprofitable as a result of a decreased use rate of the brine. This limitation can be eliminated in the process of preliminary treatment of the construction zone using explosion methods. The most efficient of these methods are those intended for dilatance decompaction of the construction area.
